How to get what you want by reprogramming your mind

How to get what you want by reprogramming your mind

Is everything in your life just how you want it to be? If the answer is no then you are not collaborating correctly with your mind.

Is there something that you want to achieve, do, be? Some changes you have wanted to make and have struggled or failed?

Here are a few simple rules, tips and tricks to get you back in control of your mind and getting it working for you rather than against you.

Firstly, your mind does what it thinks you want.  During an average day you have over 50,000 thoughts, most the same as the day before and about 80% negative.   Start listening to what you are telling yourself and if it is not positive, life affirming and what you want, change it.  From now on decide to tell yourself in powerful positive compelling language what you do want and remember to praise yourself. First you make your beliefs and then your beliefs make you.

Your mind loves what is familiar, whether it’s that old unwanted habit, a limiting belief or procrastination that is holding you back from reaching a goal.  Trick the mind into believing that you love going to the gym, you are choosing to get on that treadmill, tell your mind how elated it makes you feel.  My using this language of loving, choosing to do something that you don’t want to, it will confuse your mind into believing this is what you want, insist on and start making the unfamiliar familiar. .

Our unconscious mind is hardwired to protect us from physical harm and emotional pain. Its primary function is to keep us alive and safe on the planet and in doing this it will move us away from pain and towards pleasure. This is why so many of my clients have fears, phobias and anxiety caused primarily in childhood by a fearful, traumatic, painful or stressful situation. Our mind then creates a panic attack or palpitations to stop you, warn you and keep you out of harm’s way. Start linking massive pleasure to getting what you want and pain to staying the same.

Lastly your mind doesn’t know the difference between what happens in reality or what is imagined. It acts on the words you use and the pictures you make in your head.  Your unconscious mind is always listening to what you are saying which can affect every cell in your body and what you attract into your life.  Tell your mind better things. Use precise exact words so your mind understand exactly what it is you want and start to notice the benefits.
